EMMAUS, Pa. (WLVT) - The Emmaus Main Street Partners are working to raise money for businesses and residents who have been affected by the ongoing global crisis.

The money raised will help pay bills for small business owners, and it will also benefit students in the Angel Network at Emmaus High School. “We essentially provide basic assistance to students in need on an immediate and short-term basis,” said school counselor and Angel Network liaison, Sara Burk. “We’re a resource they use until long-term assistance can be put in place.”

Burk said the money raised for the Angel Network will help students now, and in the future. “This is money that we can put away for students who might want to go on a field trip, but can’t afford the fee for the field trip, or might want to take a dual-enrollment class, but don’t have the 90 dollars to pay the dual-enrollment fee so they can earn college credit,” said Burk.

Ashley Lorah with Emmaus Main Street Partners said many businesses are suffering right now because of the pandemic, so this fundraiser is a way to offer a little support. “Now our businesses main form of advertising and connecting with people is website and social media, and they can’t sustain like that.”
