The team here at PBS39 has been hard at work in preparation for the 44th season of our academic high school quiz program, Scholastic Scrimmage, set to premiere this Tuesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. on PBS39.

The program -- the longest-running in PBS39's history -- has a new look and feel, beginning with the host. Salisbury High School English teacher Joe Pacitti takes over host duties from long-time host Dr. Karen Walton, who retired after 20 years of hosting Scholastic Scrimmage at the conclusion of last season.

Pacitti -- currently a doctoral candidate at Lehigh University -- is a Lehigh Valley native, and adds his dynamic personality to the program.

"I have large shoes to fill. Dr. Walton set a very high bar as an educational game show host," Pacitti told PBS39 earlier this year. "I am excited to bring my personality to the role, while still honoring the program's four-plus decade long legacy."

Long-time viewers of Scholastic Scrimmage will also notice the show's new scoring system, and the addition of "Lightning Rounds," which ask teams questions from a particular category in rapid succession.
