HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WLVT) - All eyes are on Pennsylvania as the 2020 presidential election draws to a close.

And President Trump certainly has his attention on the commonwealth -- Northampton County to be more specific.

Thousands turned out in the morning rain for a rally Monday as Trump paid a visit to HoverTech international, a medical equipment manufacturer, in Hanover Township.

Trump took to an outdoor stage after a short drive from Lehigh Valley International Airport, where Air Force One had landed.

"Thank you very much Allentown, thank you very much. Allentown, I know it well," he said.

Some who came had camped out overnight to assure a spot in the crowd. Others like Colleen Altieri came early in the morning in spite of the rain.

"I got my umbrella, nothing's gonna stop me," she said. "I'm going to the voting booth, too."

Trump blasted his Democratic opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, and criticized the coronavirus restrictions imposed in Pennsylvania by Gov. Tom Wolf. It was Trump's first appearance in Northampton County as president and the first of three stops in Pennsylvania on the day.

The Nov. 3 election is just eight days away.

Biden also has his eye on Pennsylvania. He visited Bristol Township in Bucks County on Saturday.
