"The System"

El Sistema Lehigh Valley (ESLV) provides intensive orchestral, choral, and music theory instruction five days a week to underserved students, primarily from Allentown. ESLV is modeled after the original Venezuelan organization, El Sistema ("The System"), which was founded in the 1970s with the mission of teaching the poorest, most at-risk Venezuelan children classical music. With the support of the Allentown Symphony Association, ESLV is putting violins, violas, and cellos into the hands of some of the Valley's most disadvantaged students.
