BETHLEHEM, PA. – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2021– On Wednesday, the National Educational Telecommunications Association announced finalists for the 53rd Annual Public Media Awards, with PBS39 receiving a total of nine finalist nominations in 11 categories, including:
In the category of Community Engagement: Smart Sacks (Kids & Family), Summer Series (Kids & Family), Juneteenth LV (Local Project); In the category of Content: Articulate with Jim Cotter (Arts & Entertainment); In the category of Education: Lehigh Valley Reads (Educational Resources for the Community), PSU Microcredentialing (Teacher Professional Learning); In the category of Marketing & Communications: Annual Report 2020 (Annual Report), Community Update on Coronavirus (Social Media), Athlete of the Year Award (Special Event)

Each year, the Public Media Awards honor the work of public media stations in community engagement, content, education, marketing/communications, and overall excellence. The 53rd Annual Public Media Awards will be presented on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 during the 2022 NETA Conference.
