Join us at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14 for a screening of Forged in Steel: The Roots of American Soccer, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
This Emmy-nominated documentary tells the previously untold story of the Bethlehem Steel Football Club through the eyes of historians and explores how the club shaped the sport in the Lehigh Valley. The original Bethlehem Steel FC, created out of the powerhouse Bethlehem Steel Corporation, had one of the most dominant American teams in the history of the sport. This “super team” acted as a catalyst to establish soccer as a major sport in America. Now, almost 100 years later, the Lehigh Valley continues to be a hub for fans of the sport.
The discussion will be moderated by on-air personality Stephen Jiwanmall.
Guests will include (pictured below):
Curt Mosel - Chief Operating Officer, ArtsQuest
Greg Ramos – Executive Director, Lehigh Valley United
Gina Lewandowski – Professional Soccer Player
