WLVT - TV - For five years, the American Cancer Society has been running Gamers vs. Cancer, a virtual fundraising campaign that turned out to be pandemic-proof.
Recently, the charity launched its first Gamersvs.CancerNationwide College Tournament. It's a way volunteers and donors can continue to raise money for the charity while abiding by social-distancing or stay-at-home orders.
"We're still pushing forward because cancer isn't stopping and we can't either," said Nino Cimino, a community development manager at the American Cancer Society.
Donations are fuel for charities like the American Cancer Society. If you're interested in participating in Gamers vs. Cancer, you can visit the official website here.
