Production U is a week-long summer camp, expected to be held in July 2017, that exposes high school students to the world of production and broadcast journalism. Students learn the details necessary to light, shoot, write, edit, perform on-camera, and create their own newscast in a real-life television studio. The PBS39 staff helps this group of 25 students develop research, communication and technology skills. This is a rare opportunity for local youth to get a realistic taste of what is involved in these exciting fields and what educational opportunities exist for them to learn the skills necessary to be successful.
