This Season on FOCUS

As PBS39 counts down to fall, FOCUS looks forward to an all-new season of the people, places and issues that matter to you. Our fourth season of Emmy® Award-nominated programming launches with feature stories on two track cyclists from our region who competed in the Rio 2016 Olympics; a tour through the newly opened National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, and an overview of some of the latest advancements in cancer treatments and diagnosis available in our region.

We have a full season of exciting new programs planned focused on the arts, politics, business and health. Here’s an overview of what we have planned in the months ahead:

FOCUS on Politics takes over in October and November with coverage of local, state and national elections. This series includes five to six weeks of conversations with candidates, feature stories and voter roundtables discussions. We’ve partnered with The Morning Call to host two Congressional candidate debates for the 17th District on October 4 and the 15th District on October 11. Both debates will air live at 7 p.m., and you can join us in the studio by registering at

FOCUS on the Arts returns this fall with a special look at the Lehigh Valley film industry on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m. Actor and director Daniel Roebuck takes us behind the scenes of his locally produced film, Getting Grace. Plus, we sit down with the Allentown actor starring in Disney’s Pete’s Dragon

FOCUS on Health with PBS39 this spring as we explore issues such as addiction, opioid abuse, mental health, aging and cancer treatments.

FOCUS: Full STEAM Ahead returns this spring with a new series, Made in the Lehigh Valley. This four-part series explores how the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math combine to create jobs and products in our region.
