A 'Taste' of the Valley's Local Food Offerings
Buy Fresh Buy Local of the Greater Lehigh Valley is an inspired organization working to build our local food economy. To achieve this, they have set out to educate consumers about the many benefits of choosing locally grown foods, as well as to help the community to gain fresh food access. By improving our local food economy, we are creating a happier and healthier community.
Our mission here at PBS39 is to educate, inspire, inform, and entertain. Our greatest and most cherished obligation is to our community. Like Mister Rogers himself, we strive to be a good – or, better yet – a great neighbor.
So, in the interest of doing the neighborly thing, PBS39 jumped at the opportunity to participate in BFBLGLV’s annual Taste of the Lehigh Valley event, hosted by ArtsQuest. Families from all over the Lehigh Valley came out to eat, play, shop, and explore.
Quite honestly, you had me at “eat,” but food wasn’t the only thing on the menu. Between the live music, 30+ market vendors, workshops, cooking demonstrations, and a VIP tasting event there was certainly no shortage of activities.
We ate amazing dishes from innovative restaurants all over the Valley. We played the notorious Zucchini 500. We bought fresh produce from farmers from right in our backyards, and explored all this community has to offer.
