Intern Journal #12: What's Next?
With four months under my belt, I am not the intern I was when I started back in January. And as cliché as it may be, it’s crazy how quick the time has flown. In these short few months, I have not only gained perspective, but a discipline and understanding outside the classroom. I have not only grown as an intern, but as a student, as an employee, and as a person.
The semester has finally come to a close and I have officially graduated with my Associate’s Degree in Communications from Lehigh Carbon Community College. It is a close to what feels like the longest chapter in my life thus far. It has had its ups and most certainly had its downs, but I am happy to say I made it out alive. Between my time here at PBS39, school, work and managing to maintain a social life, it would be the understatement of the year to say I spread myself thin. But after all, that is what these formative years are all about, testing the waters, the limits, and your very own patience. With that being said, I am far from my final chapter, and it seems as though I have many more of these so-called “formative years” to go. So, what’s my next step?
“What are you going to do now?” There is no escaping this question. It is a question that I am always asking myself and one that I am still trying to answer. And, though I am not quite sure what’s next for me, or what school I will be attending to further my education, I do know that I will be sticking around PBS39 for this summer. I am so thankful for the opportunities this internship has presented for me. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse.
