Intern Journal #7: Keeping Busy

Posted by Tyler Winston on

Training and spreadsheets and deadlines, oh my!

From training for a new job, to tackling the work of an intern, to keeping up with the mountain of assignments from classes, it’s a wonder I’m still standing. The wonderful woes of a college student have hit me hard this semester. You know what they say, “When it rains, it pours.” And let me tell you, it’s pouring alright.

But everyone has to pay their dues at some point or another, right? Sometimes you have to just grin and bear it. And with graduation in the not-so-distant future, it’s time to kick things into overdrive.

You’d think I would have learned my lesson by now. I’m not superwoman; unfortunately, I can’t do it all at once. I have a tendency of spreading myself way too thin, and I’m sure many of you can relate. It’s hard for me to say no to opportunities that are presented to me which, generally speaking, is an excellent quality to possess, but sometimes you just have to step back and regroup before moving forward.

The good news is that spring break is just around the corner, and the promise of sunshine can help put some of that stress at ease. Sometimes, all it takes is a day away from the office or classroom to get your head back in the game.
