Intern Journal #1: The Adventure Begins
It is a very common misconception that the life of an intern consists nothing but coffee runs and making copies. Despite what popular culture would have you believe, that is far from the truth. As PBS39’s new PR & Marketing Intern, I will make a much bigger contribution than just managing whether or not someone wanted cream and sugar, or color copies versus black and white. You will have the opportunity to follow me every step of the way right here on Speak Up.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Tyler and to say that I am “excited” to be here would be quite the understatement. Having the chance to get better acquainted with not only my field of study and the workforce, but the community in which I live, is an opportunity I simply could not pass up.
As I approach my final semester at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) and am one step closer to receiving my Associates Degree in Communication, the tangible experience of an internship is simply invaluable. The application of my education to these real-world scenarios is, by far, the most rewarding part of my college experience thus far.
As an eager young intern, I invite any and all opportunities to learn and further my education here at PBS39. Check in with me every Wednesday for my Intern Journal post, where I will keep you updated on my exciting adventures.
