PBS39 and Bethlehem Area Public Library to Provide Children's 'Create With Me' Craft Workshop

Posted by Gerard Longo on

PBS39 will bring creativity to the community in 2016 when it hosts Create With Me, a new craft workshop to take place at Bethlehem Area Public Library branches beginning in January.

As part of PBS39’s Full STEAM Ahead! Education Initiative, Create With Me lets participants from ages 2-8 create fun, educational crafts with Pennsylvania-certified educators. The Bethlehem Area Public Library's two branches will alternate hosting the events on the third Saturday of every month.

"PBS39 is always excited to provide hands-on educational opportunities for our community. To do so with Bethlehem Area Public Library is even more extraordinary," said Tim Fallon, PBS39 CEO. "Create With Me gives some of the youngest members of our community a chance to use their creativity, while working with some of our finest educators."

Those interested in participating in Create With Me should note the dates, times, and branch locations of each month's session. Create With Me will take place at the library’s South Side Branch (400 Webster St.) at 12 p.m. on Jan. 16, Mar. 19, and May 21. The Main Branch (11 W. Church St.) will host the workshop at 11 a.m. on Feb. 20, Apr. 16, and Jun. 18.

"The Bethlehem Area Public Library is delighted to be a part of PBS39's Create With Me series," said Edana M. Hoy, Head of Youth Services at Bethlehem Area Public Library. "Our young library users love art activities, and the workshops will provide a great opportunity for both them and their parents to explore their artistic talents."

Craft sessions are open and available to the public, but registration is required. For more information or to register, please call (610) 867-3761 (Main Branch) or (610) 867-7852 (South Side Branch), or visit BAPL.org.
