Will Your Child Become 'Artist of the Month?'

Posted by Gerard Longo on

Area students have the opportunity to showcase and receive recognition for their artistic talents by entering PBS39’s new Artist of the Month contest. The contest, which is part of PBS39’s Full STEAM Ahead! Early Childhood Education Initiative, is sponsored by The Provident Bank Foundation.

Starting today and carrying through Oct. 30, students in grades K-12 can submit their painting, drawing, photography, videography, sculpture or performance art video for a chance to be recognized. Four winners apiece will be selected in three categories: Elementary (K-4), Middle (5-8) and High School (9-12). One winner per month will be featured as Artist of the Month throughout 2016, with all winners receiving:

  • A one-minute feature video to run on PBS39 television (Month TBD).
  • An “Artist of the Month” blog post on PBS39 Speak Up.
  • Social media recognition on PBS39 channels.
  • An invitation to PBS39's exclusive Artists of the Month Art Show in Dec. 2016.

Full contest rules can be found by clicking on our Artist of the Month application link. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

This is a fun way for local students at all grade levels to be recognized for their many unique, creative talents. At PBS39, we put the power (and paintbrush) in your hands. We can’t wait to see what you create!
