Poldark Premiere: A Viewer's Reaction
Last night, Poldark made its highly-anticipated series debut on PBS39. The series, which takes place at the end of the American Revolution, stars Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark, a Redcoat soldier who returns home to England to discover that his father is deceased, his estate is worthless, and his beloved Elizabeth is now engaged to his first cousin. The series also stars Eleanor Tomlinson as the fiery urchin, Demelza.
Here at PBS39, we always encourage viewers to “Speak Up” with us and let us know their thoughts on our programming, events and all things PBS39. In the case of Poldark, PBS39 viewer Joan Smith offered her thoughts on the new series after watching the first episode.
“I thought the background music was good and the scenery was breathtaking,” Smith writes. “I am going to continue to watch the series, and I look forward to following the characters – especially the romance between Ross Poldark and Demelza. I’m excited to see what other romances might develop. It was also fun to see some familiar faces from other British shows, such as Downton Abbey.”
You can provide your take on what we have to offer, as well. If you would like to share your thoughts on Poldark or any of our other programming, please let us know in the comments or email your own review to firstname.lastname@example.org.
