PBS39 Receives Record 10 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award Nominations

Bethlehem, Pa. -- August 1, 2017 -- PBS39 is proud to announce the receipt of a record 10 Emmy® Award nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

Individually, PBS39 Reporter/Producer Brittany Garzillo led the way for PBS39 with six nominations, including Associate Producer, Arts Program Special (Second to None: Liberty High School Grenadier Band); Reporter/Producer, Health/Environment/Science Feature/Segment (FOCUS: Personalized Medicine: The Future of Cancer Treatment); Reporter/Producer, Arts Feature/Segment (FOCUS: Please Touch Photography); Reporter/Producer, Education/Schools Feature/Segment (FOCUS: Teaching the Science of Polling); Reporter/Producer, Human Interest Feature/Segment (FOCUS: Mikayla's Voice); and Reporter/Producer, Public/Current/Community Affairs Feature/Segment (Revitalizing Easton: Simon Silk Mill).
Teri Haddad, Ed.D., PBS39 Chief Learning Officer, was nominated for three awards for her work as an Executive Producer in the following categories: Arts Program/Special (Second to None: Liberty High School Grenadier Band); Health Program/Special (Close to Home: Cancer Survivorship); and Lifestyle Program Feature/Segment (Erwin Cooks).

"I'm so proud to work with the talented professionals at PBS39, and to be a media professional in the Greater Lehigh Valley," Dr. Haddad said. "Congratulations to everyone. It was a great night for the Lehigh Valley."

Laura McHugh, PBS39 Director of Production & PBS Content Strategy and Secretary, NATAS Mid-Atlantic, was also nominated for three awards. McHugh's nominations include recognition for her work as an Executive Producer in the following categories: Health/Environment/Science Feature/Segment (FOCUS: Personalized Medicine: The Future of Cancer Treatment); Education/Schools Feature/Segment (FOCUS: Teaching the Science of Polling); and Public/Current/Community Affairs Feature/Segment (Revitalizing Easton: Simon Silk Mill).

The 35th Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards will be presented Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Hershey Lodge, 325 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033.
