"I watched MASTERPIECE CLASSIC 'Cranford' and 'Return to Cranford' online. I was again moved by the quality of programming on PBS. I was enchanted by the attention to detail of the production and the quality of the performances of the actors. Thank you so much for a wonderful viewing experience. PBS encouraged me to read EMMA and MANSFIELD PARK when I saw the Jane Austen shows and now I am going to read CRANFORD. I am going to volunteer at WHYY during an upcoming donation drive. I want this kind of programming to continue." Ronda, via e-mail

"I want to express to the military soldier who moved back from Reno to the Bay Area [THIS EMOTIONAL LIFE] and said he felt like a failure, that he is a hero to me. The very fact that in the face of war's horror he has clung to his humanity is the triumph of nature ... his continuing pain and anguish touch my heart and give me hope that war is not an option we will continue to provide our children and their children. My heart goes out to his family in their grief; my thanks go out to him for fighting a war that he thought was necessary; my respect and admiration for the humankind that he possesses are profound, and I think he is a credit to America ..." "I just finished watching the INDEPENDENT LENS program 'Young at Heart' and immediately I felt compelled to thank you for the wonderful programming always presented on PBS. I was in awe and moved very much by the chorus. I know I lead a richer life because of the programs I see on my PBS station. My children will grow up watching PBS and using PBS.org because I believe in public broadcasting. Again, thanks for always broadcasting engaging, intelligent and interesting programs ... Keep on keepin' on!" Natalie, via e-mail
"Now you have done it again! Great program, THE HUMAN SPARK, with one of the most interesting hosts, Alan Alda. Thank you, thank you, thank you." Jacqueline, via e-mail
"... PBS is my major source of news [PBS NEWSHOUR]. It has been so for many years. I trust the journalists and appreciate the thorough approach to covering different points of view on issues in the US and around the world. I like the new format ... I will be visiting you more online and like the way you describe what is available here. Thank goodness you are here ..." Jane, via e-mail
"I want to thank the NEWSHOUR for continuing the faces of the fallen military at the end of the broadcast. Many in our nation do not realize the sacrifice of our treasured young soldiers unless they have a loved one serving. Thanks for keeping a face in our hearts for just a second or two." Linda, via e-mail
"I just watched your credit card program and it was excellent reporting [FRONTLINE 'The Card Game'] ... Thank you for such thorough reporting and for helping people like me understand how complicated and fragile our economy is." Sharon, via e-mail
"The P.O.V. documentary 'Patti Smith: Dream of Life' that aired last night here in Santa Fe was fantastic. Thank you for this kind of programming." Robert, via e-mail
"NOW's presentation of 'The Team' [NOW ON PBS January 1, 2010] was just a touching and informative program of conflict resolution ... Having been a white male teacher in an all-black school in the 70s, [it] brought back some serious emotions. PLEASE, show this segment again ..." Gary, via e-mail
"... I stumbled on BODY AND SOUL: DIANA AND KATHY about two women with disabilities and the one was taking care of the other one. This story touched my heart in so many ways. I wish there were more shows like this on TV to show people how fortunate they are as well as help them to understand the trials that these people have to endure. I don't think any show has ever impressed me as much as this one did. It was truly an amazing story, one of courage, one of strength, determination and overcoming the odds, these women has truly inspired me in so many ways, and I just want to thank you for giving us something to watch with substance and not nonsense, keep up the good work, and I hope to see more such programs. If I had a wish to meet anyone, it would be the one with down syndrome ... I wish I could be half the woman she is. God has surely touched her, in many ways, she is a blessing." Joanne, via e-mail
"I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED TOUCHING THE VOID. It was the most interesting and exhilarating show I have seen in a long, long time. Spectacular!!" Karen, via e-mail
"The 'Cranford' [and] 'Return to Cranford' series was the best MASTERPIECE CLASSIC I've seen in years. A truly sterling piece of work!" Ian, via e-mail
"I am not knowledgeable about opera, but I wanted to say how much I enjoyed GREAT PERFORMANCES AT THE MET 'The Audition'. It was so interesting, and I was so impressed and moved hearing the beautiful voices and stories of all the contestants. They were all very talented and also courageous to allow themselves to be filmed at such an important time in their lives. Thanks for the program." Connie, via e-mail
"SOUND TRACKS: MUSIC WITHOUT BORDERS is wonderful. Marco and Marissa Neff were fantastic. This was one of the most interesting and groundbreaking shows I have seen on PBS for a very long time. Long live SOUND TRACKS!!" Jeanne, via e-mail
"You don't know how much I appreciate PBS showing the EYES ON THE PRIZE series. I know several people around the age of 31 who are just now, in 2010, learning about the thousands of blacks and whites who helped pass civil rights laws. Most have never seen EYES ON THE PRIZE, and now have a greater appreciation for the struggles endured. Thank you, thank you, and a million times, thank you." Shalonna, via e-mail
"My husband and I enjoyed a week in Maine last October and thanks to Ken Burns [THE NATIONAL PARKS: AMERICA'S BEST IDEA], we really had a wonderful time at Arcadia National Park! We looked for the beautiful bridges mentioned in the program and just paid more attention to a beautiful part of the country. I hope someday to see other parks. Thank you." Carolyn, via e-mail

"... I feel BARNEY AND FRIENDS deserves a huge thank you from our family. Last year, our beautiful two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Annie was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer ... BARNEY AND FRIENDS was the only show she wanted to see and it got her through many ordeals ... I just wanted to share with all the people who work on the show how important your work is and we thank you so much!" Janice, via e-mail
"Just want to thank you for the show DINOSAUR TRAIN. Our oldest son (six) is adopted, and he just loves that the little T-Rex is adopted. It has provided such a wonderful, whimsical point of discussion for his adoption. He's always known he was adopted but this is such a sweet way for him to hear about the subject of adoption. Thank you, thank you!" Tamara, e-mail
"My name is Sean Murphy. I grew up watching SESAME STREET in the 70s and watch now with my 22-month-old daughter. I would like to laud the producer(s) who created the promo campaign, '40 Years of Friends, Cookies, etc.,' to the Ernie tune 'Somebody Come and Play.' I was a TV promo producer for several years and I love seeing great work. The combination of the music, the new and old footage (especially Mr. Hooper), was funny, sweet and moving. Whoever is responsible, bravo, and thanks for the memories." Sean, via e-mail
