Laura McHugh feels thrilled to return to her home state to report and produce for Tempo! From the mountains of Montana to the Kansas plains, Laura has travelled the country in search of fun and exciting stories.
She received her degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland. An interest in state government brought her to Montana after college, where she reported from the State Capitol for Montana’s seven CBS affiliates as a one-man-band, shooting, writing and editing her stories. Most recently, Laura reported and anchored the nightly news and wrote for the local newspaper in Lawrence, Kansas.
Though she loves to travel, Laura believes there’s no place like home and hopes to settle down with her husband, Joe, in the Lehigh Valley. Joe coaches track and field and on the weekends, you can find them cheering on local athletes at the track or catching any local sporting event. Growing up just south of Philadelphia, she loves the Philly sports teams and of course, her Maryland Terps. She also enjoys hiking and is always looking for a good movie or book recommendation!
