| Amy Burkett |
Amy and her "still photographer" husband Rob have spent the last 11 years calling the Lehigh Valley home. Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Over the past 16 years she’s worked at CBS and NBC affiliates in Ohio and North Carolina as well as a national syndicator of medical news Medstar Television.
She’s traveled the country writing, reporting and anchoring television news. She joined PBS 39 seven years ago to create and host it’s weekly newsmagazine show Tempo. As the Senior Vice- President of Production she and her team are delighted to have received four national public television awards, three Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Awards, 14 regional Emmy nominations, three Emmys and one regional Edward R. Murrow Award. But she says her greatest accomplishment happened just over six years ago when her son RJ was born.
Amy believes in the importance of community involvement and works with youth at her church. She also serves on the board of governors, as the Awards Chair, of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
