Dear Friends:
Welcome to PBS39’s Leadership Circle. Members of the Leadership Circle are some of the most committed and visionary donors to PBS39. They believe in the power of public television to inspire, educate and inform the public everyday, and keep our community in touch with important local, national, and global issues. They believe public television can improve education, assist teachers and provide students with the help they need, when they need it. Most importantly, they believe in the power of public television to connect people to their communities around them. We cordially invite you to explore this site, and consider becoming an important influence in the life of this valuable community asset by joining the Leadership Circle. We look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
Rev. Daniel Gambet, OSFS Patricia C. Simon

EDUCATION
Of all the services we provide to our community, nothing surpasses PBS39’s commitment to its youngest viewers. Since its inception, PBS39 has recognized the extraordinary influence television has on young minds and the responsibility we assume whenever they spend time with us. From Curious George to Sesame Street, our children’s programs are the most honored and respected on television—sweeping the Emmy Awards children’s category year after year. Our special mission to children, however, goes far beyond television. PBS39 brings children and families the special initiative, Raising Readers, designed to teach reading skills to children ages 2-8, especially those from low-income families. Raising Readers provides extensive outreach services, including workshops for parents and the distribution of more than 10,000 free children’s books

LOCAL PRODUCTION
To better serve our community, PBS39 launched two new Tempo shows and revamped the original show enjoyed by viewers for more than 10 years. Tempo InDepth explores the critical challenges facing our communities. Tempo PublicSquare takes an objective look at local, state, and national public affairs issues. The original Tempo series introduces viewers to folks who push the envelope and make our region a better place to live, work and raise families.
PBS39 is also engaged in creating meaningful documentaries about the people and places that are important to our region, like the Communities Series and the Lehigh Valley Living History Series. |

PROGRAMMING
Since 1966, PBS39 has been enriching our community by offering unique television content not found elsewhere. PBS39 continues to reflect our community’s values and tell the stories that are important to our viewers. Through compelling, high quality content, we challenge our viewers to think, to feel and to learn something new everyday.
We often say PBS39 belongs to our viewers. We believe that it does and we strive to make certain our programming and community projects reflect our commitment to our audience. For more than 40 years, PBS 39 has remained local. We set our own policies, make our own program decisions, and answer questions when our viewers call or email. Most of our financial support comes from the local community, so we rise or fall based on how responsive we are to our community’s needs. |
