PBS39 Check-Up is a year-round healthy living initiative geared toward all ages. On-air programming will include Medical Minutes from St. Luke’s University Health Network; Close to Home, a new original production on cancer survivorship; and health features on PBS39’s weekly news magazine program, FOCUS.
PBS39 Check-Up will also feature Kira Willey’s Mindfulness and Yoga for Kids. These 60-second musical exercises combine music and yoga. They are designed to help children de-stress and re-focus. In addition, PBS39 Education and Outreach will make healthy connections as part of the 2017 Full STEAM Ahead! Education initiative, and offer Food for Thought programs to provide young students with motivation and fun tips to enjoy good foods, health, and fitness.
Medical Minutes Program consists of interviews with specialists from St. Luke’s Hospital speaking on current health concerns.
Close to Home This moving film follows physicians and their patients, exploring the themes of fear, hope, faith, journey, advocacy, and caregiving. Inspired by the work of Oncologist Dr. Rick Boulay, Close to Home shares intimate stories of survivors on their journey through cancer. Watch for 3 new documentaries included with Close to Home Cancer Survivorship; Substance Abuse; Mental Health; and PTSD. Stay tuned!
