PBS39 Check-Up is a year-round healthy living initiative, with programming and outreach geared toward all ages. Planned on-air programming includes Medical Minutes from St. Luke’s University Health Network; Close to Home, a new documentary series featuring programs on cancer survivorship, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), mental health, and opioid addiction; and periodic health features on PBS39’s weekly news magazine program, FOCUS.
PBS39 Check-Up will also feature Kira Willey’s Mindfulness and Yoga for Kids, 60-second musical exercises designed to help children de-stress and re-focus. In addition, PBS39 Education and Outreach will offer It’s Delicious!, a program providing young students with the tools they need to prepare healthy meals in an educational way; as well as Energy In, Energy Out, a program teaching K-5 students about healthy lifestyles through lesson plans, presentations, physical movement, and class experience at a local grocery store.
PBS39 will also help students make healthy connections as part of the 2017 Full STEAM Ahead! Early Childhood Education Initiative.
